The Ohio State University PressElectronic Editions |
The Ohio State University Press has a long tradition of offering its customers the information they seek in a format that suits their needs. Our hardcovers are made to stand the test of time and offer the reader a durable keepsake. Our paperbacks are designed for the more economy-minded customer, who is concerned less about the life of the product and more about getting the information in a convenient, easy-to-use format.
We are pleased to announce that beginning with the Spring 2003 season, we will be adding a new edition to our traditional line-up. Nearly all of the titles in that and future seasons are being offered in an electronic format on CD-ROM. This new edition has the complete text of the book in PDF files and can be read with any reader able to handle that format. (The most common reader is Adobe Acrobat Reader, which can be downloaded for free at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.) Every word and illustration in the book formats are in this electronic format. For those customers uninterested in the benefits of the traditional paper-based editions, this option provides a very low-cost and economical way of getting the vital information contained in our publications.
The CD-ROM editions will not be sold at a discount to the retail and wholesale markets, and they will be non-returnable.
We hope this new line will allow an increased number of readers to become familiar with the significant work being presented by our authors. We look forward to working with our customers to continue to offer reading solutions that meet their needs.
